Re: Flashing 21489 EZ Kit Without VDSP++/Emulator

Hi Al,Klaus,

Al - In terms of emulators, I agree that an emulator is effectively a necessity for development. I actually have one myself, the ICE-2000 which is a great new offer from Analog. I am looking into a simple, cheap method for my colleague to flash a 2nd EZLITE/EZBRD with DSP firmware updates from myself. We work in different locations, so unfortunately can't use my set-up. It looks like a 2nd EZ-Kit with debug agent + VDSP++ with 90 day license might be the best option for development purposes. We have begun design on our custom hardware, so the 90 days should see us through until we have that to hand. If not, we may consider a dspFlash.

Klaus - Thank you for this insight re: bootloader. It is something which I have been investigating recently and is actually one of our product requirements as we will need to provide customers around the globe with a means of updating firmware. Thanks for pointing out that thread, I will have a read. I have read through EE-355 and EE-345 also which will prove useful. This task is scheduled last in the SW dev plan, so I will have time to do the necessary research.

Thanks again

Brian
