Thanks Colin!
I have to choose between a very expensive VisualDSP++ licence and an even more expensive Cross Core / uC solution. I would go for the uC solution if I could buy an individual license for each shipped product. Or even better if Analog Devices would support VDK on Cross Core.
What is the reason for not allowing use of the debug agent on a custom board?
If I do develop a board I will only make very few of them since I
. I will only sell products to people I know personally and at very low cost.
Most probably I will finish my prototype and just use it myself. It will be the best digital crossover ever made, and only me and my friends will be able to listen to it.
I will be looking for a DSP from any other brand which allows me to protect my code and make small series of hardware at a reasonable cost.
Analog Devices are clearly not interested in the small business / diy community. This is a shame since some of us small businesses will succeed, but with hardware from other brands.
