Re: RClamp0504P vs. RClamp0524P in ADV7612 reference designs.

I looked into RClamp0504P datasheet and it seems very much different from RClamp0524P.

RClamp0504P is designed to protect data lines by clamping them to a fixed reference and it has an input for this reference voltage.

RClamp0524P doesn't have that kind of input for reference voltage.

But it is strange, that in Dual ADV7612 Eval Board Schematic this RClamp0504P reference voltage input is left floating.

Is it an error?

To what voltage then signals ( SCL, SDA, CEC , HPA ) connected to RClamp0504P are to be clamped?

To +3.3V ?

If Yes, then why is that needed?

Because  ADV7612     SCL, SDA, CEC , HPA inputs do not tolerate +5V?

If Yes, then can I use just ordinary diodes for that clamping?

Please also confirm, that RClamp0524P is useless for that purpose.
