I can see that you are using a 4GB SDHC (secure digital high capacity) card. The major compatibility issues between SDHC and SDSC cards are the redefinition of the Card-Specific Data (CSD) register in Version 2.0, and the fact that SDHC cards are shipped preformatted with the FAT32 file system. Since you are referring to the application note and examples codes for running FAT16 File Systems on SHARC Processors, you may not be able to interface SDHC cards properly.  Hence I would suggest you to refer the application note (EE-289: Implementing FAT32 File Systems on ADSP-BF533 Blackfin Processors (Rev 1, 02/2006)) and software code given in the Analog devices website. Please note that the application note is written for Blackfin processor, since the FAT32 driver codes are written in ‘C’ you can make use of this codes for developing your application.
