I think there is no rationale for the 30A. It is just a design example. The current throught the MOSFET (= Id)
should not exceed 30A and the MOSFET should be able to withstand more than 30A.
2.)
In my opinion this should be the inrush current for the 2000uF capacitor, but I have no clue, why it is rated with 1A.
Maybe the value is taken from a datasheet of a real 2000uF capacitor and is limited by the inner resitance and inductivity of the capacitor.
