Thanks for the feedback. Could you take a look at the micro ATXMEGA16A4 programming?

The U5 ADM2483 is connected to pin PC2 of the ATXMEGA16A4.

Your setup and problem description is pointing towards the state of the PC2 pin of the micro ATXMEGA16A4.

There may be a problem with this pin, or a problem with the micro settings,

For Example:

I have seen forums where pins PC2 to PC5 are programmed as 'always high', the comments indicate that disabling JTAG interface for the ATXMEGA16A4 will remove the problem.
