You can use the part if you like, but the part is not recommended for new designs because we cannot support it for new designs. If you have problems, we won't be able to help you with that part-- what is available as documentation is all there is.
I suppose asking questions about it (which I just did ) on this forum is still possible/allowed? Soon I will start adding the chip to my PCB design. At some point I might make a topic with all the questions that arise during that process. Not necessarily of course.
HDCP doesn't matter on the transmitter anyway-- you can't decrypt with it. If there are no keys, it doesn't matter what you do with MCL and MDA.
I think I will connect them to ground then, so they will not float. I am not sure about what you mean with that HDCP doesn't matter on the transmitter anyway. I do not really know much about HDCP. I believe the AD9889B is responsible for encrypting the HDMI data and it uses the EEPROM key for that? Is that correct?
