ADuCM330 AUX sensing related inquiries

Hi all

One of the customers inquired about using the ADuCM330 AUX channel.

 

 

Previously, used ADuCM330 as Pic 1 connection. This worked fine.

Now she wants to use the AUX channel of the AduCM330. (IN+_AUX, IN-_AUX / XINP_AUX, VINM_AUX)

She wondering if the AUX PIN is added to the existing connection method and it works when the sensing position GND is different. (Pic 2)

If I have a problem with the configuration, how do I configure it?

The soure code you attached that it only for FPGA chip? but on ASD7-V2 have two chip need firmware. FPGA and blackfin processsor ADS-BF527? Where can i find the second code for ADS chip?

Is LTC4413-1/LTC4413-2 Can detect the Input Power Source automatically

Hi,

I am using this LTC4413-1/LTC4413-3 for the multiple input and single output application to get single power output from multiple one. Now i want to detect that how many power sources are connected to the IC, to select one from them.  

I want to know that is this IC LTC4413-1/LTC4413-2 can DETECT the power input sources.

I am using this IC for multiple power source input DETECTION and SELECTION.

So, is this feature is available in this IC or not.

thanks for your prompt reply.

As far as the issues you write in your answers, your issues are neither hard nor time-wasting to be bypassed. I worked in the past with cadence as well as with other tools and coming to your answer:

#1 most tools do provide converters/importers to handle "foreign" designs;

#2 it's quite easy and fast to provide a self contained design with no need to deliver your complete library: simply create a new empty library in your design then go to your design tree view and select all and only used parts  and then copy paste to the the empty library you created. Save and close. From now on you can detach any link to the complete library.

 

Since I'm sure you/your engineers already know these simple steps, I believe the correct answer should simply be "We don't release the cadence schematic archives" which is both in ADI's rights and acceptable to me. As well as it is in my rights to choose for the future only parts from manufacturers that do provide reference schematics as ADI itself too did in the past. 

In any case may you please transfer to your sales/development/decision'makers that always ask for client satisfaction that this is an aspect to be improved?

ADuCM350 EVB Test with BIO3Z Board

Dear,

 

I'm now on evaluating an EVB of ADuCM350 with BIO3Z board.

I used default HW connection and some changed SW setting as attached file.

For the BIO3Z board,

Inserted LK7/8/9 and LK10, LK16/17/18 and LK19 on position B to measure R23 + R24//R26 = 1.5k ohm

- 4-wire isolated, Tx via AFE8, Rx via AFE7, Rcal = 1k, Rtia = 1k, In-Am Gain = 1.412

- Vpeak = 10mV, Freq. Sweep from 25kHz to 50kHz with 1kHz step.

- Ideal Impedance R1 = 1.5k ohms

with these settins, click "GO" and wait the status LED turned off

Then, click "Plot" and clock plot again at plot window with Impedance Mag. vs Freq selection.

 

Question)

Sometimes, I got very low impedance magnitude value as attached plot results(page 2, with 41kHz frequency).

Can I get some helps on this low value result ?

I am measuring a thermocouple by AD7124-4 application.

Hello.

 

I used to get help before in this site.

I was really good. and there was no problem.

but another problem is occurred.

 

I have a problem when I calculate a temperature from a K-type thermocouple data.

To get the temperature by thermocouple, I got two temperature a "cold" junction and "hot" junction temperature for the thermocouple as follow the 7124 datasheet.

 

 

my calculation is  as follows:

    total_temperature = Hot_junction + Cold_juntion

 

but when I heat the "cold" junction, the total_temperature is changed.

My developed controller has the cold-junction inside. So when i supply power, the controller is heated

and total_temperature value is changed.

 

My question is :

   1) is the calculation right?

   2) Does the thermocouple has the feature that the total_temperature always get effected by the "cold" junction           temperature?

    3) If number 2) is right, how can i reduce effect of the "cold" junction?

    4) Does Other controller by thermocouple has these feature?

Hi Kazu,

 

AD8627 is a JFET input amplifier which typically have very high input impedance (Giga to Tera ohms) and very low input bias current in pA range. Because of this, it is more common for us to measure input bias current rather than the input impedance for a high impedance device like a JFET amplifier. Looking at Figure 9 Input bias current vs VCM of AD8627 datasheet, we can estimate the input impedance by dividing VCM by Ibias which is in Tera ohms range.

Please see my comments.

 

1) I don't think you are not using correct diver file for parallel flash.  Looking at the image showed above, seems the driver file is for SPI flash (M25P16).

Please use the driver file for parallel flash (M29W320) from the below path,

<ADSP-21469 BSP installation directory>\ADSP-21469_EZKIT-Rel1.0.0\21469_EZ-Board\Examples\Device_Programmer\parallel\21469_m29w320_dpia.dxe

 

2) Please confirm if you have modified the driver file that you used above. Just wondering how it shows the DevCode, ManCode and all stuffs?

Hi,

Finally I could fix the problem: the issue didn't come from the digital interface of the ADL5240 but from the RF section.

I stupidly forgot to insert a DC blocking cap on the DSA RF output (pin21) The attenuator bias that is present on the RF output was grounded by a transformer that follows the ADL5240 on my board.

Adding a serial 100pF cap on pin 21 immediately fixed the problem.

Hope this basic error can help somebody reading this topic !

The question of using Visual Analog to evaluate AD9874

I have downloaded the ADI Visual Analog Software and AD9864_74 SPI GUI to evaluate the AD9874. I use the test conditions as below:

IF =15.75MHz, -12dBm
LO=18MHz, 1 vp-p
the AD9874 registers are setting as below:

I use the Visual Analog software, the AD9874_16b average FFT, the data capture is setting as below:

And the result is as below, why result looks so bad?

We don't have freeware dependencies from Micrium. You'll have to get the license from Micrium.
