Custom AD9361 board, no-os drivers, no rf output

Guys,

I am working with a custom board that communicates with the AD9361 device using the no-os drivers in cmos mode.  I understand that the no-os drivers were not designed to communicate in this mode, so I have been making changes to the no-os software and firmware to meet this need. I have been testing out my transmit side modifications by viewing the tx clk, frame, and data signals on a scope and comparing them to the timing diagram shown on pg. 15 of the ad9361 interface specification.  I have been able to tweak the firmware and software to generate the 1R1T FDD Dual port waveform. Now I expected that my custom data that I am sending to the AD9361 from my BBP would show up on the RF, but when I observe the RF output, I see nothing at all.

My question is this: what steps can one perform to debug why there is no rf output.  The ad9361 is a little overwhelming with so many options and registers I really don't know what all to consider. Of the things that I am considering, I don't want to overlook anything.

One thing to note is that my digital tuning process fails during startup.

Thanks,

Nick
